A [workspace](https://docs.langalpha.ai/concepts/workspaces/) is a folder on one of your computers with its own threads and files. Wherever a command takes `<ws>`, pass a workspace id, its exact name, or `home`. Each command also takes the [global options](https://docs.langalpha.ai/cli/overview/#global-options).

## workspaces list

Your workspaces.

```sh
langalpha workspaces list [--include-home] [--limit N]
```

| Option | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `--include-home` | List Home as well. |
| `--limit N` | List at most this many. Defaults to 100, the most the server lists at once. |

Prints each workspace's id, name, status and computer.

## workspaces create

Create a workspace.

```sh
langalpha workspaces create <name> [--description D] [--computer C]
```

| Option | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `--description D` | A description for the workspace. |
| `--computer C` | The id of the computer to create it on. Defaults to your primary computer. |

The name becomes the workspace's folder name, so the [naming rules](https://docs.langalpha.ai/concepts/workspaces/#names-and-folders) apply. A name with spaces needs quotes.

## workspaces archive

Archive a stopped workspace's computer, and with it every workspace on that computer.

```sh
langalpha workspaces archive <ws>
```

Archiving acts on the whole computer, as in the app: it must be stopped first, and it takes longer to start again. See [Archive](https://docs.langalpha.ai/concepts/computers/#archive).

## workspaces delete

Delete a workspace, its threads and its files.

```sh
langalpha workspaces delete <ws> [-y] [--delete-files]
```

| Option | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `-y`, `--yes` | Skip the confirmation. Required when no terminal is attached. |
| `--delete-files` | On a machine you added over SSH, delete the workspace's folder there too. Without it the folder stays on your machine. |

Home cannot be deleted.
